Historic Highlights/Interesting Information: This is a salty, nostalgic one-of-a-kind launched in 1956 in Vancouver, B.C., by Heinz Braun and named for his wife, Herta. They sailed it to San Diego in 1959 and lived aboard at Southwestern Yacht Club for over two decades.
According to a manual written by the builder, the design is based on a West Coast fishing trawler and built using an existing hull as a template. This double-ender has been around the tip of Mexico twice, according to the builder's granddaughter. It has circumnavigated Catalina many times.
